Schijn (Simulacrum)

Schijn is an installation of five rotating mirrors mounted on a wooden beam. Cast in epoxy, the mirrors have lost their reflective function. The work explores reflection—both physical and psychological—questioning perception, self-awareness, and utility. By removing their primary function, the mirrors shift from object to image, playing with expectations of use and meaning.
